The Yūgumo' class destroyer (夕雲型駆逐艦 Yūgumo-gata kuchikukan?) was a class of destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. They were all completed from 1941 to 1944. The IJN called them Destroyer Type-A (甲型駆逐艦, Kō-gata Kuchikukan?) from their plan name. The Yūgumo class destroyers were similar to the preceding Kagero class destroyers. The main differences were a slightly different bridge design and the introduction of a new type of turrets for the main guns which were capable of 75-degree elevations giving better AA capabilities. Despite these improvements, none survived the war.
